Welcome to my storytime blog! I have created a Virtual Storytime room with some stories and fun activities for you to do at home when you can't make it to the library. Stories and activities are changed every couple of weeks. You can also access past story blogs by using the sidebar search box.

Be Brave

"True courage is in facing danger when you are afraid." - Frank Baum, from The Wizard of Oz

STORYTIME:

We're Going on a Bear Hunt
by Michael Rosen (performed by Michael Rosen)

The Gruffalo
by Julia Donaldson; illustrated by Axel Scheffler

BEAR HUNT ACTIVITIES If you can get outside, pretend you are going on the bear hunt through your backyard or neighborhood. Recite the rhyme over and over until you are ready to run back home. However, if you can't get out, make your own sensory bin like the one on this website.

CRAFT:
  • DESIGN A GRUFFALO You need glue and a blank sheet of paper for the background. Take a brown sheet of paper and tear it up into 1" pieces. You also need scraps of white, red, and yellow paper for the eyes, nose, fangs, and horns. Use your imagination to design a Gruffalo, or follow along with the video.

Look for more stories and activities in the coming days.
Remember, make it a great day, keep safe, and keep on reading!
