Stressed by all the changes (schools closing, stay-at-home orders, panic shopping, NO VISITS TO THE LIBRARY!)? Remember, you are not alone. Here are a few ideas to help ease that stress.

Is a Worry Worrying You?

Snappsy The Alligator
by Julie Falatko, Illustrated by Tim Miller. Read by David Harbour.
The PBS Kids site shared this simple stress-distraction--a Glitter Calm-Down Jar for when you're feeling overwhelmed. First, you need a water bottle (it needs the cap!) 3/4 full of warm water, some glitter, and a bottle of clear glue. Before using, glue the lid on the bottle to avoid it accidently spilling. Then, whenever worry starts nagging at you, shake your glitter jar, breathe slowly, and watch the glitter slowly settle on the bottom.
If you can't get to the store for the glue or glitter, you can make a wave bottle instead. You need a water bottle (it needs the cap!) half full of water. Add food coloring to color the water (the deeper the color, the clearer the effect of the waves). After you color the water, add vegetable oil to the bottle up to an inch from the top. Glue on the cap and your wave bottle is ready to enjoy. To use, gently turn the bottle slowly back and forth and watch the "waves" splash away.
