Welcome to my storytime blog! I have created a Virtual Storytime room with some stories and fun activities for you to do at home when you can't make it to the library. Stories and activities are changed every couple of weeks. You can also access past story blogs by using the sidebar search box.

National Library Week

“Harry — I think I've just understood something! I've got to go to the library!”And she sprinted away, up the stairs.
What does she understand?” said Harry distractedly, still looking around, trying to tell where the voice had come from.
“Loads more than I do,” said Ron, shaking his head.
“But why’s she got to go to the library?”
“Because that’s what Hermione does,” said Ron, shrugging. “When in doubt, go to the library.”

J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

SADLY, WE CANNOT RUN TO THE LIBRARY LIKE HERMIONE RIGHT NOW. BUT, THE LIBRARY IS STILL THERE FOR YOU WITH LOTS OF ONLINE RESOURCES AND ACTIVITIES -- LIKE MY STORY BLOG, FACEBOOK AND EMAIL UPDATES, AND THE EBOOK COLLECTIONS OF OVERDRIVE, HOOPLA, TUMBLE BOOKS, AND MORE. SO, UNTIL YOU CAN PERSONALLY VISIT THE LIBRARY, PLEASE KEEP ON READING

HAPPY NATIONAL LIBRARY WEEK EVERYONE!

CRAFT
  • I LOVE MY LIBRARY Trace a heart on a sheet of paper (any color, any size) and cut out. Next, on one side of the heart write (or draw a picture) sharing why you love the library. Decorate as desired. Then, either save your heart and bring to the library when we are open. Or, have your grownup put your heart in the library building's drop box (by the front door) to cheer the hearts of your librarians. Thank you!

Look for more stories and activities in the coming days.
Remember, make it a great day, keep safe, and keep on reading!
